Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has commented that former King Gyanendra Shah cannot become a constitutional monarch under any circumstances. Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Thursday, General Secretary Thapa made this comment.
He says that no matter how much he washes and cleans Shah, he is not qualified to become a constitutional monarch. He claims that the Nepali Congress has come to the decision that after a long struggle and experience, he cannot keep a constitutional monarch. He accused former King Shah of creating chaos by sitting in Nirmal Niwas and asked what he would do if he were in Narayanhiti. He accused former King Shah of bringing businessman Durga Prasai and former Pancha Nawaraj Subedi to create chaos.
He also claims that the representatives elected by the people are capable of running the country. Speaking on a different occasion, General Secretary Thapa urged no one to be confused, saying that the party’s general convention will be held on time. He claims that the party’s general convention will be held within Mangsir 2083 BS. He called on party workers to join the organization building, saying that there is dissatisfaction in the party due to the fact that the leaders are becoming strong and the cadres are becoming weak.
General Secretary Thapa also accused the government of not being able to work as expected. He expressed the intention that the government did not follow through on what the political mechanism formed by the government said. He said that although the mechanism has been providing necessary suggestions to support the work of the party, it has not been able to achieve any results. He also said that it is important to be clear about the government’s role in employee transfers and promotions, not the mechanism.
He also said that he is always questioning why the UML-Congress-led joint government has not been able to deliver the desired results.
