Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has directed to prioritize the work to be done institutionally for strengthening the financial sector and find solutions to existing problems. In a meeting of the High-Level Financial Sector Coordination Committee, Finance Minister Poudel said that even though the economy is improving, it is necessary to prioritize the programs and problems of regulatory bodies to increase its effectiveness.
In a meeting with officials and representatives of the National Planning Commission, Nepal Rastra Bank, Department of Cooperatives, Nepal Insurance Authority, Nepal Securities Board, Nepal Bankers Association, and the Office of the Registrar of Companies, the Finance Minister said that it would be easier to get results by determining priorities.
The meeting discussed issues such as economy, banks, cooperatives, liquidity, credit, insurance, subsidies, and capital markets. On that occasion, discussions were also held on further discussing economic issues, and increasing coordination between agencies as impacts in one sector of the economy will also have an impact on other sectors.
