Kathmandu. The Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives has unanimously passed all sections except Section 17 of the Hydropower Bill. The committee meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday passed all sections except Section 17 of the bill, said Committee Chairman Deepak Bahadur Singh.
He said that there was an agreement to finally fix the linguistic error in the bill. He informed that since Section 17 of the bill still needs to be discussed regarding the lower and upper coastal areas, the next meeting will decide.
He said that he would submit a report after discussing the bill, including that section, in depth, so that the law would not have to be amended for a long time. He has claimed that a bill will be introduced to protect the shares of 6 million citizens in the electricity sector.
