Kathmandu. Nepal’s oldest and trusted ride-sharing platform Taximandu and world-renowned international ride-sharing app Yango have entered into a historic partnership. Through this collaboration, The Yango App will now be easily accessible to Nepali users.

Yango, which currently operates in more than 30 countries, has now entered Nepal as an official partner of TaxiMandu. Arjun KC, Managing Director of Taximandu, said, “The experience of international technology will now be available to Nepali passengers and drivers as well. ‘

Bike rides will start at a minimum of Rs 40 and taxi rides will start at Rs 180 through the soft launched Yango app from Tuesday. In the initial days, a bonus scheme has also been implemented for both drivers and passengers.

Similarly, it has been announced that no more than 3 percent commission will be charged for the next three years, which will greatly help in the income of drivers.

Yango will not only connect its own vehicles but also local drivers and taxi entrepreneurs with passengers through technology. “Collaborating with local entrepreneurs will create economic opportunities and contribute to the city’s smart mobility infrastructure,” said Adeniy Adebayo, Chief Business Officer at Yango. ‘

Digital accounting system, real-time tracking and fleet management will enhance both transparency and efficiency, said KC, managing director of Taximandu. More than 20 safety features have been included in the Yango app to ensure the safety of both passengers and drivers.

The app will automatically show the estimated fare according to the destination of the trip and currently there is a provision for cash payment. An online payment system will also be added in the near future.

Yango Group: Global Tech Giant

Yango is a global technology company that provides rides, deliveries, foodtech, and digital services in Africa, Latin America, Europe, and South Asia. Now this technology has reached the hands of Nepali users.

According to Taximandu’s Managing Director KC, the facility has now been started for taxi drivers and bike riders to register themselves easily by scanning the QR code from home. This has removed the need for drivers to go to the office, saving both their time and expenses, he said.

After the rider or driver scans the mobile and fills the required details directly through the app, the profile will be activated in a few minutes.

Only 3 percent commission, also bonus on each trip

For now, Taximandu-Yango will charge only 3 percent commission.

This commission rate is currently the lowest among ride sharing available in Nepal. In addition, the driver and rider will also receive a bonus on each trip, which will directly help in the driver’s income and concessions to the rider. For easy access to Yango services, the service is currently available in the market through more than 10 agencies.
