Kathmandu. Sharad Ojha, the newly appointed chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority, has said that work is underway to bring the directives issued by the authority in a unified form. Speaking at an interaction program on the topic of ‘The Future of the Insurance Sector’ in Kathmandu on Sunday, he said that the authority is working to address the demand of insurers to bring the directives issued by the authority in a unified form.

He said that a few days after he joined the authority, a committee had been formed to start work to integrate the directives. He informed that work has started to remove the issues listed in the regulations from the directives and make them timely where necessary.

He promised that the work would be completed within two months and provide convenience to the insurers. He informed that the interests of all stakeholders should be ensured for the benefit of the insurance sector. Stating that the interests of the insured cannot be protected if the financial institution of the insurer is not strong, he said that the NRA is ready to facilitate the necessary measures to strengthen the financial health of the insurer. Chairman Ojha emphasized that the interests of the entire insurance industry should be kept at the center and moved forward.
