Lamjung. Due to the absence of the office chief at the District Land Revenue Office located at Fulbari Chowk, Ward No. 8, Besisahar Municipality, the employees have not received their salaries for two months, and the services provided from here have been affected.

Due to the absence of the office chief, the employees of this office have not received their salaries for the months of Poush and Magh. Bhishma Kumar Malla came as the head of the office last Mangsir.

After he left on Poush 14, Ram Chandra Adhikari from Pokhara was appointed as the head of this land revenue office about a month ago, but he has not come to attend yet.

Not only are the employees not getting their salaries, but due to the absence of the office head, work including name transfers, other real estate-related work and financial transactions have been halted. The service recipients are facing problems, said the acting office chief Purna Bahadur Gurung.

He said, ‘Even at this time, the chief did not come, he has become uncontactable. If he had not come here, the transfer would have been withdrawn, or if he had come on time, the employees would have received their salaries, and the service recipients would have received services.’

Although Gurung was appointed as the acting office chief, he has not been given the authority to perform financial and important tasks. He said that the problem is arising because he does not have the authority to perform important tasks for the service recipients. According to him, there are only 8 permanent employees in this office, which has 26 posts.

Gurung said, ‘Before this, I was the acting office head from Asad to Mangsir in the absence of an office head and no other office head came or was appointed at that time. But now, since the Deputy Secretary Adhikari was appointed as the head and transferred from Pokhara and posted here, various problems are arising because he does not have all the rights. Despite repeatedly reporting to the concerned bodies, he has not been able to get a hearing.’

The office head has been changing repeatedly in this land revenue office for a year. In the last one year alone, three heads have arrived and been transferred to the District Land Revenue Office. They are saddened that the service recipients are facing problems when the head of the office does not stay in the office for more than a month.

This year, Chirinjivi Poudel came as the head of the office, but he was dismissed within a month. After that, the office was operated by an assistant until Jestha. Harendra Kumar Shrestha came in the month of Jestha, but he was dismissed in the month of Ashar. Since then, the service has been provided by an assistant for four months.

Although Bhishma Kumar Malla came as the head of the office last Mangsir, he too was dismissed in the month of Poush. Since then, no one has come as the head of the office. Even though the officer was transferred from Kaski as the chief, the problem arose when he did not appear in Lamjung.

Here, along with the office chief, there are 5 buyers, one computer operator, one accountant, one tycoon (tactician), and one office assistant, according to the acting office chief Gurung. He said, ‘As there are fewer employees as per the staffing restrictions, there are problems in the service flow and there is more burden on the employees.’
