Kathmandu. Independent MP Amresh Kumar Singh has drawn the attention of the government to immediately stop the incidents of murder, violence and discrimination against women and Dalits and take action against the culprits.
Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, MP Singh drew the attention of the government to the increase in incidents of murder and violence across the country. He said that women and Dalits are being subjected to a series of atrocities and asked why this is happening during the tenure of this government.
He expressed his suspicion that the provincial government’s failure to speak out against the oppression of Dalits in Madhesh Province is not a form of power sharing. He said, ‘What is happening in this country? Women and Dalits are being subjected to a series of atrocities. Why is this happening during the tenure of this government? Why is the Madhesh government also not speaking out against it? Is it power sharing?’
He also accused the current government of being anti-women and anti-Madhes.
