Kathmandu. The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Falgun 21 has appointed Janak Bhattarai as the Inspector General of Nepal Police. The government has appointed Janak Bhattarai after the retirement of the current Inspector General Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.
The Council of Ministers has also asked for clarification from the Executive Director of the Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising. In the decision number 10 of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, it is stated, ‘Why should the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, not be removed from the post of Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority as per clause (a) of Regulation 22 of the Regulations on the Terms and Conditions of Service of the Executive Director or General Manager of the Nepal Electricity Authority, 2061 (with amendments)? The Government of Nepal will be given an opportunity to present an explanation to the Council of Ministers within three days as per Regulation 23 of the same Regulations. For this purpose, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation will write a letter.’
Now Kulman will have to send a reply through the Ministry of Energy within 3 days. If the reply is not satisfactory, the government will remove Kulman from office.
