Kathmandu. Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav has said that he will end the politics being played on water sources. Minister Yadav said this while responding to questions asked by lawmakers in the National Assembly meeting on Friday.
He said that the trend of not allowing water to flow from one ward to another is growing and the government is working to end it. He also said that the budget will be allocated with priority to restore the dried-up water sources to their original condition, saying that currently 27 percent of the population has access to clean drinking water and he also claimed that this number will be increased to 57 percent within the next one year.
He said, “We are working to revive the dried-up water sources and restore them to their original structure.” This time, the Ministry of Drinking Water will move forward with priority budget allocation for the protection of drinking water sources across the country. And the water source belongs to the Government of Nepal. We will end the politics of not allowing water to flow from one ward to another by being arrogant.’
He said that the government is committed to providing clean drinking water to the common citizen.
