Kathmandu. Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he will continue to struggle to protect the norms and rights established in the constitution formed on the strength of the people’s movement.
At a program organized at the party office in Parisdanda on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the armed struggle launched under the leadership of the then Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) since 1 Falgun 2052, he said that attempts to overturn the progressive provisions of the constitution will be thwarted.
‘Even now, the struggle between two classes and tendencies is going on. We had estimated many years ago that even after reaching a federal democratic republic, there would be attempts to prevent it from becoming a people’s republic, and that is the situation today,” Chairman Dahal said. “Some elements are trying to overturn the progressive provisions of the constitution, but we will leave it as a socialist republic.”
He said that he had resolved to firmly advance the people’s ‘agenda’ and strengthen unity with the people by returning to the Maoist community. Chairman Dahal emphasized that the party should join efforts to change the lives of the people in a way that they can feel, even after achieving epochal achievements at the political level.
On that occasion, Chairman Dahal and other Maoist leaders offered a bouquet of flowers at the Martyrs’ Memorial located in the party office complex.
