Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmuliq A Bass has pledged to always support the families of Nepalis affected by terrorist attacks.
Addressing a reception organized on the occasion of Israel’s 77th Independence Day and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Israel diplomatic relations here on Thursday evening, he pledged to support the families of the victims.
On October 7, 2023, 10 Nepalis studying in southern Israel were killed as part of the ‘Learn and Earn’ programme. Paying tribute to the Nepali students killed in the attack, Ambassador Bass said that their families would continue to be supported.
“Israel has been providing financial and moral support to the families of Nepali students affected by terrorism. Israel stands in solidarity with all those affected by hamas attacks, including Nepalis,” he said.
Talking about the multi-dimensional Nepal-Israel relations, he said nepal has been collaborating in education, agriculture, health, infrastructure, water resources, rural development and security sectors. More than 4,000 Nepalis have received training from Israel’s Agriculture and Educational Centers, the Israeli government has provided special support to Nepal’s agricultural modernization and economic development, and his country’s government is ready to expand multilateral cooperation in the field of information and communication and cyber technology in the coming days.
Reiterating that Israel has always been in favor of peace, development and friendship, Ambassador Bass said that maintaining durable peace in the Middle East is his country’s only goal.
