Manang. Warehouses are to be constructed in all municipalities of the district. As per the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, warehouses are to be constructed in all four municipalities of the district with the aim of supporting disaster management.
The meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee chaired by Chief District Officer Matrika Acharya decided to construct warehouses to keep the district residents safe in times of disaster. Chief District Officer Acharya said that it has been decided to identify open areas in all four municipalities and construct warehouses for necessary materials and safe residences to be used during disasters.
He said, ‘As per the instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, we are preparing to identify open areas to construct warehouses keeping security in mind. It is believed that the warehouse will be helpful in providing necessary materials and accommodation to the common people in times of disaster. He said that the warehouse will be helpful in preventing problems like the food shortage in past disasters.
CEO Acharya informed that a letter has been sent to the concerned body to remove unnecessary items piled up near the Timang bridge during last year’s rains to make the road easier and prevent further damage. ‘Keeping materials on the narrow road has been causing problems for passengers, we are working on a solution to this,’ he said.
He informed that preparations are being made to transfer unnecessary items piled up on the Timang bridge in an area of five ropanis in Timang. He believes this will make the locals as well as the police safer.
