Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre) has demanded the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
CpN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Gopi Bahadur Achhami demanded his resignation to assist in the investigation, alleging that the home minister was involved in the immigration department’s visit visa scam.
Stating that the chief of the Immigration Office had made a statement that he should pay Rs 100,000 to the Ministry of Home Affairs, he demanded that home minister Lekhak pave the way. He also drew the attention of the government to investigate the incidents of human trafficking under the guise of visit visa.
“Visibility is low to rescue the people trapped in the floods,” he said. I have realised that there is a good visibility in the Immigration Department. Such anti-humanity and anti-corruption activities are taking place. That activity should be investigated. For this, the Home Minister should resign. I would like to demand that the Home Minister should resign as it is also a lesson taught by him that those in power should resign as soon as the question of morality arises. ’
The CIAA has detained four people, including the immigration officer of Tribhuvan International Airport, on charges of setting up a visit visa and sent their devices for investigation.
On the other hand, the opposition parties continued to obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives demanding the resignation of the Home Minister. Achhami warned that if the Home Minister did not resign, he would not allow the national assembly to meet.
