Damauli. The road upgrade of Dulegowda Sakhe in Shuklagandaki Municipality has been started. The road upgrade has been started in partnership with Shuklagandaki Municipality and the Road Board.

Ward Chairman Narayan Thapa informed that the road upgrade is being done from Barahi Khola to Mandre section of Dhorbarahi in Shuklagandaki Municipality-8. He said that the slope of the section has been started at a cost of Rs. 1.5 million. There will be a 150-meter road slope in this section.

Vehicle movement has been closed on the Barahkhola culvert, in front of Kumari Bank and in the Bhati-ko Dill section of the said road section since Saturday. As the road will be closed for a month, it has been requested to use alternative roads.

Similarly, the Chandrabati-Ghalechhap road section under VC Sher Bahadur Road located in Bhanu Municipality-12 has been upgraded. The upgrade has been started from the budget of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Urban Development of the federal government.

Ward member Sudeep KC informed that the necessary structures are being constructed under the section from Dhungedhara Ghumti with a budget of Rs 10 million from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. KC informed that 490 meters of blacktop and other structures will be constructed from the Rs 10 million budget of the Ministry of Urban Development.

The construction of 180 cubic meters of gabion mesh and 54 cubic meters of concrete drains has been completed at the Chandrabati starting point with a budget of Rs 2 million implemented through the Infrastructure Development Office. KC said that since the contract was awarded through Bhanu Municipality and the construction side did not work despite repeated extensions of time, about 950 meters of blacktop from the starting point to Kudule have been started at a cost of Rs 750 million.

It is said that it will take a few days to complete the current 470 meters of blacktop. Currently, consumers traveling to Upper Ghalechhap, Okhle, and Bayapani have been urged to travel via the alternative route Chandravati-Archle-Arbaje.
