Simkot. Passengers have always had to suffer due to the unpaved road of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-1 Karnali Corridor. Passengers have been facing problems on the road section due to dry landslides in winter and landslides in the rainy season.
Large freight trucks and passenger vehicles from cities such as Nepalgunj and Surkhet continue to ply their trade daily. Due to the unpaved road, vehicles are also getting more trouble every day. Passenger Ramita Shahi said that passengers are having a lot of trouble on the journey from Humla to Kalikot due to the dusty road.
The 132-kilometer road from Humla to Khulalu of the Karnali Corridor is facing more problems. In some areas, vehicles have to be brought into operation by laying stones. Even eating in this area is becoming a problem.
Banchu Mahat, who reached Simkot from Nepalgunj, said, ‘Sometimes dry landslides occur and sometimes the dusty road makes the journey difficult. Although the road is wide in some places, it is difficult for vehicles to move around in most places.’
When vehicles have difficulty moving on the dusty roads in Sanni Ghat in Kalikot, Raskot, and Jagannath Rural Municipality areas of Bajura, passengers have been working together to clear the dust and lay stones. It is necessary to upgrade the road here.
