Kathmandu. At a program organized at the party central office today to mark the 76th foundation day of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that uniting the communists is the need of the day. He expressed his views on the historical journey, current situation and future direction of the communist movement in Nepal, saying that the establishment of the party on Lenin’s birth anniversary was not only a historical coincidence but also a matter of inspiration.
According to Chairman Dahal’s personal secretariat, he said, ‘The Communist Party of Nepal, which was established with inspiration from Lenin, has turned 77 today, which is a matter of pride for the entire communist movement.’
Discussing the communist party’s struggling history, he said that the communist movement has reached its current state amidst division and sacrifice, and said, ‘Today’s need is to unite the communists again. We want unity on the basis of ideas, principles and the ideology of true communists. We are in the process of reaching out to the people and correcting our weaknesses.’
