Kathmandu. National Independent Party MP Manish Jha has said that workers working in the Udayapur Cement Industry have not received their wages for three years. He said this while speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday.
He accused the government of not paying the wages even after three workers working in the industry died and one was hospitalized due to kidney failure.
He drew the government’s attention to the fact that they had not received their wages even after a long period of leave. He said that workers have not been able to get their wages due to political appointments in public institutions.
He said, “One hundred and three people who retired from Udaipur Cement Industry three years ago have not received any benefits yet. Among them, Ashok Chaudhary, Upendra Rakhal and Devi Bajagain have died. Also, Hem Kumar Dahal is in the hospital with kidney failure. The government has not provided money for treatment. We are seeing what the results of political appointments in public institutions are. But another thing is, we give zero value to those who turn a loss-making company like Kulman into a profit. We are giving him the excuse of being expelled because he could not recruit his workers.”
He also accused the government of playing a game to remove Kulman because he could not recruit his workers.
