Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.
The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, discussed various aspects of the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as trade and investment. Prime Minister Oli praised the rapid progress made by the UAE on the path of development and urged for expansion of investment in Nepal in the fields of hydropower, green energy, hydroenergy and others.
Deputy Prime Minister Nahyan said that he would encourage UAE businessmen to expand investment in Nepal’s tourism, energy, agriculture and other sectors. He, who arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday for a two-day visit to Nepal, mentioned that he is ready to sign a free trade agreement with Nepal.
