Kathmandu. Tehran said it fired a hypersonic missile into Israel on Wednesday morning in the latest round of night attacks between arch-foes, hours after US President Donald Trump called for Iran to “unconditionally surrender”.

The U.S. president has stressed that Washington has no role to play in israel’s bombing campaign, but has warned Iran that its patience is running out as the conflict enters its sixth day.

Israeli warplanes targeted the Iranian capital early Wednesday after the military warned civilians to leave a district for their safety. The Israeli military later said it had attacked weapons manufacturing sites and facilities used to make centrifuges in Tehran.

Iran has asked the residents of Tel Aviv to be prepared for an attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed that its hypersonic Fatah-1 missiles are “repeatedly shaking shelters” at commercial facilities.

“The 11th wave of Operation Onnest Promise 3 was proudly carried out using the Fatah-1 missile,” the guards said in a statement broadcast on state television. Hypersonic missiles travel at five times the speed of sound and can change direction between flights, making it difficult to track and stop them. Iran has also sent a “group of drones” to Israel.

The army said it had stopped two in the Dead Sea area. World powers have rushed to find a way out, hoping to prevent the conflict from escalating into a region-wide war. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti called on his Iranian counterpart and U.S. ambassador Steve Witkoff on Tuesday night to call for a diplomatic solution.

Trump stepped up speculation about U.S. intervention after he hurriedly pulled out of the G7 summit in Canada, where leaders of the club of wealthy democracies jointly called for a ceasefire. In Washington on Tuesday, Trump called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender”.

He also boasted that the US could easily assassinate Iran’s supreme leader. “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He’s an easy target, but he’s safe there – we’re not going to kill him, at least not for now,” Trump wrote on his Truth social platform.

He has met with his National Security Council to discuss the conflict. The meeting ended one hour and 20 minutes later without any immediate public statement. Despite repeated vows not to get caught up in the Middle East’s “perpetual wars,” Trump ordered the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier to go to the region with several U.S. military aircraft.

U.S. officials said he had not yet made a decision on any intervention.

Despite international warnings, israel launched an unprecedented bombing campaign targeting Iranian nuclear and military facilities, but neither side has backed down from the long-range attack that began on Friday. Israel says senior Iranian commander Ali Shadmani and his predecessor Ghulam Ali Rashid were killed in the attack.

Since the start of the war, there have been deadly attacks on residential areas in both countries and foreign governments have rushed to evacuate their citizens. According to government data, more than 700 foreigners living in Iran have entered neighboring Azerbaijan and Armenia since Israel launched its campaign.

Those rescued included citizens from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as From Germany, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Romania, Portugal, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, China and Vietnam.

The United States says it is closing its embassy in Jerusalem until Friday amid escalating conflict, but there has been no announcement on helping Americans leave the “crisis zone.” Many residents of Tehran have fled fearing violence. On Tuesday, long queues broke out outside bakeries and petrol stations as people rushed to store fuel and basic supplies. Tuesday’s cyber attack crippled Sepah Bank, one of Iran’s main state-owned banks, fars news agency reported.

While air raid sirens are regularly ringing in Tel Aviv, some people have moved to an underground parking lot under a shopping mall. “We have decided to set up a permanent camp here until everything is clear,” said Mali Papirani, 30.

nuclear bomb scare

After decades of hostility and a long shadow war, Israel said its surprise air campaign was aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Tehran has rejected its ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons. Iranian media reported several explosions on Tuesday in the central city of Isfahan, home to nuclear facilities.

The U.N. nuclear watchdog said Iran’s Natanz facility had a “direct impact on underground enrichment halls.” Israel maintains ambiguity about its nuclear activities, but the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) says Israel has 90 nuclear weapons.

The conflict has derailed a series of nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington. After israel’s campaign began, Iran said it would not hold talks with the United States when it was under attack.

French President Emmanuel Macron said trump had an important role to play in resuming diplomacy with Iran, saying the regime’s efforts would lead to “chaos”. China has accused Trump of “pouring fuel into the fire” in the conflict, while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu of being “the biggest threat to the security of the region”.

Netanyahu’s office said at least 24 people had been killed and hundreds wounded in Israel since Friday. Iran said on Sunday that at least 224 people, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians, were killed in the Israeli attack. Tehran has not released an updated number.
