Two health posts built in Galkot at a cost of over Rs 40 million, providing convenience to patients

Dhorpatan. Two health post buildings have been constructed in Galkot Municipality at once. The Dudilabhat health post in Ward No. 1 and the Malm health post in Ward No. 7 have been constructed.

The municipality has been adding new structures to provide effective services by organizing the health posts that have been operating from old buildings for years. The construction of both health posts was started last year. The Dudilabhat health post was signed in 2080 Mangsir and the work began.

Bishnu Nirman Sewa has been entrusted with the construction at a cost of Rs 18,158,680, informed the municipality’s spokesperson Him Bahadur Bhandari. The building was completed last January.

The Malm Health Post was contracted in Ashar 2080 and work began. The building, which was entrusted to Jayakalika Bhagwati/KC Construction Services JV at a cost of Rs 23.136 crore, was completed in Poush last year. According to Spokesperson Bhandari, Galkot Municipality has invested heavily in the health sector. With the construction of well-equipped buildings for all the health posts of the municipality, the services provided from here can also be made quality and effective. Efforts are being made to provide services from the health institution in a way that the general public trusts. If someone is sick, they will get treatment in the village.

Dudilabhati Health Post Chief Yammaya Rana said that the service has not been effective from the narrow, adobe building built 50 years ago. He said that the problem of having to queue patients when providing multiple services from the same room will now be solved.

The municipality has provided health services to all 11 wards of the municipality. Health Branch Chief Sushil Poudel informed that there are 14 health institutions including one municipal hospital in Galkot. According to him, there are seven health posts, three urban health centers and three basic health service centers in the municipality.

The municipality has been providing birthing centers at nine places and lab services at five health institutions. After establishing health institutions and operating birthing centers in villages, remote citizens can easily get services and the number of people giving birth at home has reduced to zero, Chief Poudel informed.
