Godavari. The construction of two concrete bridges has begun in the Dhangadhi-Syaule section of the Dhangadhi-Khutia-Bpinagar-Dipayal Expressway.

According to Dinesh Raikhola, engineer of the Dhangadhi-Syaule Road Planning Office, the construction of concrete bridges has begun over the Jonapur River flowing through Godavari Municipality-8 and the Sukuti River in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-5 under the said road.

A contract for the construction of the bridge was signed with a construction company last December for Rs. 31.5 million. The bridge over Jonapur River is 50 percent complete, while pillars are being raised in Sukuti River.

According to the planning office, 13 kilometers of road have been blacktopped. The ‘track’ of the Khutiya-Dipayal fast track was opened in 2064 BS. In the first phase, a survey of 82 kilometers from Khutiya to Dipayal and 10 kilometers from Syaule-Dhangadhi was conducted.

The construction of the Dhangadhi-Khutiya-Dipayal-Chainpur-Uraibhanjyang ‘fast track’ road, which is considered important from other perspectives including its short distance, has been delayed due to the government not allocating sufficient budget for the construction.
