Two arrested for duping 6 00,000 as DSP

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly duping nepal police of Rs 600,000 by posing as deputy superintendent of police (DSP). The arrestees have been identified as Gyanu Tamang, 45, of Chauri Deurali-8 in Kavrepalanchowk and Rewati Ojha, 42, of Itahari sub-metropolis-4 in Sunsari.

“They were arrested on the basis of a complaint that they were duped of Rs 600,000 by claiming to be dsp of Nepal Police,” he said. ’

Among the arrested, Gyan Bahadur was sentenced to five years in prison on March 27, 2017, for a crime related to arms and ammunition, for a public offence and on a gambling-related offence on November 1, 2009.

Spokesperson Bohara said that the Kathmandu District Court has extended the remand of both the accused for five days and further investigation is underway.
