Palpa. The District-based Transport Management Service Office has collected Rs 170 million more in revenue in the first nine months of the fiscal year 2081 and 2082. The office has collected Rs 172.315 thousand 465 in revenue from new vehicle registration, renewal and distribution of driver’s licenses from Shrawan to Chaitra of the current fiscal year.
Office Chief Laxman Ghimire informed that Rs 20 million 10 million 37 thousand 400 was collected from driver’s licenses and vehicle registration books and Rs 144.862 thousand 740 from vehicle tax.
According to him, there has been an increase in revenue collection in the same period of the current fiscal year compared to the previous year. Chief Ghimire said, ‘The increase in revenue collection in the current fiscal year is due to the increase in the number of driving licenses, vehicles and faster service flow.’
The office had collected Rs 147.4 million in revenue during the same period last fiscal year. It collected Rs 187.4 million in revenue by mid-Ashad of the last fiscal year 2080/81. Which has now reached close to that revenue in nine months.
With three months left until the end of the current fiscal year, the revenue is certain to increase compared to last year. Whereas in the previous fiscal year, only Rs 24.528 million was collected from driver’s licenses and vehicle registration books.
Similarly, in the previous fiscal year, Rs 154.743 million was collected from vehicles. Which has reached close to that collection by mid-Chait of the current fiscal year. Similarly, in the nine months of the current fiscal year, Rs 18.46 million was collected from the transportation sector and Rs 45.68 million was collected from income tax.
The office collected Rs 5.658 million from income tax in the entire month of the previous fiscal year, informed the office’s assistant computer operator Samjhana Timilsina. According to him, the total revenue collected in the same period last year was about Rs 40 million less than in the same period last year.
Currently, the office collects income tax under the headings of vehicle tax, vehicle renewal fees, route permits, and vehicle inspection passes. The office has collected revenue from 2,325 new licenses, 531 additional categories, 6,346 retrials, 2,091 license renewals, and 2,831 written permits as of Chaitra of the current fiscal year.
The office also stated that 24,068 vehicle renewals, 3,040 times, 904 inspection passes, and 967 route permits were renewed on the vehicle side.
