Kathmandu. The first production center of Nepal’s most popular instant noodle brand, Wai Wai, has been relocated. This historic factory, which has been operating in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur for four decades, has now been shifted to CG Industrial Park (CGIP) in Nawalparasi.

According to Pradeep Pudasaini, CEO of Wai Wai, the entire process of relocation was completed with mutual understanding and written consent between the management and other stakeholders, in a respectful manner.

Established in 1984, the Wai Wai factory in Bhaisepati is one of the instant noodle production centers in Nepal. At the time of its establishment, Bhaisepati was an open area, where industrial activities could be conducted easily. “Over time, this area turned into a residential area with high population density, which made it difficult to continue industrial production, and we decided to relocate this historic factory,” Pudasaini said.

Also, for some time now, concerns have been expressed by local residents and the social sector regarding environmental pollution, noise pollution, and the impact of industrial activities. Taking these concerns seriously and with a commitment to maintaining environmental balance, the Wi-Fi management has decided to relocate.

The company had arranged a special incentive package to ensure that no worker faced any inconvenience during the factory relocation. In addition, the opportunity to transfer to other Wi-Fi plants and offices outside Kathmandu has been opened for interested employees. According to the management, this process will further strengthen the working environment within the company. “This factory was transferred with written consent after proper management of all employees,” Pudasaini said.

The new factory transferred to Nawalparasi has been upgraded to a state-of-the-art production system and brought into operation. Chaudhary Group is investing more in technology to ensure competitive production not only in Nepal but also in the international market.

The company believes that this transfer will help further expand the Wai Wai brand, increase production capacity, and improve quality. Wai Wai, one of Nepal’s most successful FMCG brands, aims to further strengthen its products and compete more strongly in the global market.
