Siraha. Under the ‘Human Papilloma Virus’ (HPV) Vaccination Campaign-2081’ organized by the Siraha Municipality Health Branch and with the technical support of the Public Health Office, Siraha, health workers have been trained within the city.
Shedding light on the program, the head of the municipality’s health branch, Mohammad Idris Rain, informed that HPV vaccination will be administered to 7,500 girls from grades 6 to 10 of 60 schools in the city and 10 to 14 years of age outside the school from Magh 22 to 29.
32 health workers from all 22 wards of the city have been trained for the HPV vaccination campaign, and 21 heads of health institutions have been trained earlier. Mayor Dr. Naveen Kumar Yadav urged the health workers participating in the training to prepare for the HPV vaccination campaign, which has been included in the regular vaccination program since this year, to achieve the 100 percent target.
Public Health Officer Krishnadev Yadav informed that the required quantity of HPV vaccine has already arrived at the District Health Office. The Ministry of Health and Population has introduced the HPV vaccine with the support of the Global Alliance for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (GAVHI) to prevent cervical cancer in women.
