With the increased activity of the Armed Police Force of Parsa, which is deployed for border security, the number of goods seized for customs fraud from neighboring India has increased dramatically. Armed Police Force, Nepal No. 13 Battalion Headquarters, Commander Radheshyam Dhimal, informed that illegal and suspicious goods worth Rs. 419.231.707 were seized in a period of one year.
‘With the increased activity of the Armed Police Force, the number of illegally imported clothes, electronic goods, hardware, motor parts, food items and grocery items has increased,’ he said. ‘The Armed Police Force has also deployed two trained dogs at the Birgunj customs checkpoint and is conducting checks.’
The Armed Police Force has seized clothes, electronic goods, and grocery items worth Rs. 281.1 million and 6487, imported through customs fraud, from 2081 Baisakh to 2082 Baisakh 6. Hardware, motor parts, food items and groceries have been submitted to the Birgunj Customs Office.
Similarly, during the same period, unbilled goods worth Rs 138.125 million were submitted to the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathlaiya. Ganapati Dhimal informed that the Armed Police Force has been carrying out programs including security of the 107-kilometer open border in the district, prevention of illegal import and export at the border, and Armed Police with border residents.
