Traffic accidents in Tanahun: 48 people killed in nine months

Tanahun. 48 people have died in road accidents in Tanahun in nine months. 48 people have lost their lives in 44 road accidents that occurred till Falgun of the current fiscal year. 81 people have been injured in those accidents.

According to District Traffic Police Office Chief Krishna Bahadur Chand, 24 men, 20 women and four children have died in those accidents. While there were no deaths in Shrawan of the current fiscal year, 29 in Bhadau, four in Asoj, two in Kartik, one in Mangsir, two in Poush, eight in Magh, one in Falgun and one more person died within Chaitra 10.

During the same period, 24,641 vehicles violating traffic rules have collected Rs. 2340,500 crore in revenue. The office has collected the amount by taking action against vehicles including trucks, tippers, buses, jeeps, motorcycles, scooters and others that violate the rules.

He informed that speeding vehicles are being monitored from time to time through radar guns and action is also being taken against them. He said that security personnel have made every effort to reduce the risk of accidents as the Muglin-Pokhara road is being expanded.
