Kathmandu. The government has taken a policy to make rice self-sufficient within two years. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said that various programmes have been arranged for this purpose in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year presented in the joint sitting of the Parliament today.
Similarly, modernization in agriculture will be done to increase production, training and training will be given to the human resources dependent on agriculture. He said that adequate arrangements would be made for fertilizers and seeds, special arrangements would be made for agriculture and animal husbandry by dividing them into super zone and zone areas. The budget has been allocated to make arrangements to be self-sufficient in food, vegetables and meat.
Finance Minister Poudel said that arrangements have been made for the program to maintain the fertile power of the soil. Organic fruits and vegetables will be produced by promoting organic fertilizers.
Monkeys, boars and nilgai, which are a problem in various districts, will be controlled and cultivation including ginger will be promoted in the affected areas. The government is going to take forward the program of providing quality seeds and promoting meat export from the budget.
According to him, a programme to produce 42.8 million fish browns is also being brought from the budget in the coming year. The government has also said that export of cardamom, tea and coffee will be promoted.
