Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that the Nepal government needs to study more about the issue of receiving foreign aid.
Speaking at a press conference to make public the decision taken by the Council of Ministers at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Tuesday, Minister Gurung said that it is necessary to take a serious decision on the issue of receiving foreign aid.
Although the changes in world politics have had a very small impact on Nepal’s politics, they have not affected foreign aid loan grants. But now, the decision made by the US government has forced them to be serious and review it.
He said that the Nepal government needs to study what issues to take loan assistance and what not to take and take decisions only after studying them.
He said that Nepal should only work within its own budget to reduce foreign dependence. He said that Nepal should learn a lesson from the impact of the US government’s decision to cancel USAID and suspend the MCC program.
