Kathmandu. Three people have been arrested from different places in the Kathmandu Valley on charges of defrauding them of Rs 3.1 million by promising to send them to various countries for foreign employment.
Tilak Bahadur Karki of Baglung Tarakhola Rural Municipality-3, Hari Bahadur Bista of Pyuthan Naubahini Rural Municipality-6, and Jamuna Pariyar of Syangja Galyang Municipality-8 were arrested on Monday by a team mobilized from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. The accused Pariyar defrauded them of Rs 2.8 million, Karki of Rs 1 million, and Bista of Rs 2 million, according to the Central Police News Room. They have been sent to the Foreign Employment Department for further action.
Meanwhile, Dhruv Kumar Raya and Rajan Dangol, permanent residents of Udayapur Rautamai Rural Municipality-7, have been arrested on charges of stealing mobile phones and personal documents and engaging in fraud.
Arrested with fake educational certificates
48-year-old Bikash Shrestha, a resident of Shrikhandapur, Dhulikhel Municipality-5, Kavrepalanchok, has been arrested with fake bachelor’s and master’s degree certificates issued by Tribhuvan University. .
He was arrested from Dhulikhel on Monday after a review of the records of Tribhuvan University revealed that he had obtained fake transcripts of his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies and Master’s Degree in Business Studies, the newsroom reported.
