Kathmandu. The winter session of the Federal Parliament, which began on Magh 18, has ended today. In the last meeting of the winter session, Speaker Ghimire has made public the names of the MPs who were absent from the assembly 10 times or more.
Among those who were absent the most is Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Including Deuba, seven MPs have been absent from more than 10 meetings during the session citing various reasons.
Among those who were absent the most is Nepali Congress MP Manorama Sherchan. She was absent from 27 meetings citing the reason for undergoing therapy, informed Speaker Devraj Ghimire. According to Speaker Ghimire, members of the House of Representatives Liladevi Bokhim Limbu have been absent from the meeting for 14 days, Saraswati Bajimay for 11 days, Ramesh Rijal for 12 days, Deepak Bohara for 21 days, Sher Bahadur Deuba for 11 days and Geeta Basnet for 27 days.
The Speaker mentioned that some of the MPs who will be absent from the parliament are undergoing health treatment and some are on foreign trips. The House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday approved the leave of the MPs.
