Kathmandu. Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that middlemen are dominating the appointment of the governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank. Speaking to Press Center Nepal, he said that the government has completely fallen into the hands of middlemen.
Prachanda claims that there is no disagreement between the Congress and UML on the appointment of the governor, but between the middlemen. He said, “There is currently a tug-of-war among the middlemen over who will be the governor. You may think that the parties did not agree on the appointment of the governor, but here the issue is with the middlemen. They are tussling over whether to appoint this one or that one. The middlemen have a good grip on the Congress-UML. That is why the appointment of the governor is being delayed.”
He claimed that the middlemen had manipulated a large amount of money to topple his government. He added, “The middlemen and land mafias used a huge amount of money overnight to topple the government led by me. The Congress bought the UML, which is why the government led by me collapsed. If I had reached an agreement with the middlemen, my government would have survived.”
Prachanda has urged not to do too much politics in a position like the governor.
