Kathmandu. CPN-UML MP Gokarna Bista has said that he is confident that the upcoming budget will be realistic and meet the people’s expectations.
Participating in the discussion on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year in the House of Representatives’ meeting on Tuesday, MP Bista said that the principles and priorities put forward by the bill are fundamentally correct.
He stressed that the budget should also address the current youth’s desire for rapid development.
He said that economic growth or per capita income achieved by earning one or two percent is no longer desired, and that natural resources and state resources should be used to improve the lives of the basic class, increase the wages and productivity of workers He stressed the need to prepare the basis of socialism in a way that ensures fair distribution of benefits.
Says that indiscipline has emerged in budget preparation in the past few years, and he is confident that the upcoming budget will put an end to such indiscipline.
He said, ‘The Appropriation Bill 2082 has been presented to the House. In the context of presenting the bill, the Constitution of Nepal has made constitutional provisions on some accountability and responsibilities towards citizens, including constitutional rights, directive principles. The 16th Plan has set guidelines for the development of the country and the economy for the next five years. For a long time, some serious development challenges have emerged in Nepal. Specifically, low economic growth, low production and productivity, public spending and resource mobilization.’
He stressed that the budget should convey the message that we are fulfilling the vision of the constitution and that we are walking in the same footsteps.
