‘The statement that nothing can be done in Nepal is wrong’ – Chairman Dhakal

Kathmandu. President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal has said that there are abundant investment opportunities in Nepal and that those opportunities should be turned into opportunities.

Speaking at a program organized in Butwal on Saturday to mark the 72nd foundation day of the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rupandehi, President Dhakal said that the wrong narrative that there is nothing in Nepal has been established and that it needs to be broken.

‘Nepal has abundant potential for natural resources. We must be able to ‘capitalize’ it. If we invest based on the resources available here, entrepreneurship will also develop and employment can be created in abundance.’ He said.

Similarly, Chairman Dhakal said that for the economic development of the country, policy stability should be maintained and domestic investment should be encouraged. ‘For the economic prosperity of the country, policy stability should be accompanied by domestic investment. Only by doing this can an investment environment be created in the country, production growth and employment can be created.’ He said.

President Dhakal said that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has amended its statute as per the demands of the district and city chambers of commerce and industry, and that with the amendment of the statute, an opportunity has been created for the district and city chambers of commerce and industry to move to the federation.

Stating that the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 2010, is a leading organization in western Nepal, Chairman Dhakal praised the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry for playing a leading role in protecting and promoting the rights and interests of industrialists and businessmen, as well as in developing other infrastructures in the region, including education, health, and other infrastructure.

Discussing that Rupandehi is a fertile land of Nepal in all aspects of agriculture, tourism, industry, and trade, Chairman Dhakal also said that the development of Gautam Buddha International Airport, Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Butwal International Conference Center, Customs, and other physical infrastructures constructed recently are the foundations for this.

During the program, Chairman Hari Prasad Aryal, Chairman of Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rupandehi, said that industrialists and businessmen in this region had formed an ad hoc committee in 2009. He informed that the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry was formally established in 2010 by forming a committee and informed that since its establishment, the association has been playing a leading role in the economic, social and physical development of the region, including investment.
