Kathmandu. The National Statistics Office has estimated that the size of the national economy in the fiscal year 2080/81 will be 57 trillion 4 billion 84 million. This estimate has been made according to the ‘Annual Economic Activity Study Report for the Fiscal Year 2080/81’ of the Sudurpaschim Province.
The initial estimate is that the economic growth rate will increase by 3.54 percent in basic prices and 3.87 percent in consumer prices. The office has projected that the growth rate of the agricultural sector at basic prices will be 3.03 percent, the growth rate of the industrial sector at 1.20 percent, and the growth rate of the service sector at 4.50 percent in the current fiscal year.
Similarly, in the current fiscal year 2080/81, the gross domestic product of the Far West Province is estimated to be 404.28 billion rupees and the economic growth rate is estimated to be 3.41 percent at consumer prices and 3.06 percent at basic prices. At basic prices, the growth rate of the primary sector of the province is estimated to be 3.42 percent, the growth rate of the secondary sector is estimated to be 0.50 percent, and the growth rate of the tertiary sector is estimated to be 4.09 percent.
The production of major agricultural crops in the Far West will increase by 2.85 percent. Increased
The area covered by major agricultural crops (food and other crops, vegetables and fruits and spices) has decreased by 7.71 percent during the year under review, while the production of such crops has increased by 2.85 percent, the report states.
Among the major food and other crops, the production of paddy and barley has increased the most by 65.71 percent and 25.03 percent respectively, while the production of oilseeds has decreased the most by 18.53 percent.

Average capacity utilization of industries is 48.96 percent
In the review year, the average capacity utilization of the industries included in the study sample of the province is 48.96 percent. Among industrial products, the production of rice and wheat increased during the review year, while the production of mustard oil, soap, bricks, sugar and rosin decreased.
By the end of the review year, 16.75 percent of the total credit flowed from banks and financial institutions in this province had flowed to the industrial sector, while the credit flowed to that sector had decreased by 4.79 percent compared to mid-Ashar 2080 to reach 25.6 billion 18 million.

Of the budget allocated for current expenditure of the Far Western Province government, 66.55 percent has been spent in the review year, while 62.06 percent of the budget allocated for capital expenditure has been spent.
24,250 people in the Far Western Province have obtained labor permits for foreign employment
