Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the process of providing drinking water to the people of Dharan has been initiated. Prime Minister Oli made this information during a meeting with a delegation including the Mayor of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City of Sunsari, Harka Raj Rai, at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar today.

‘The people of Dharan should be able to drink drinking water. This process has been initiated from today. For this, the federal government will provide necessary facilitation in budget management and other matters. Please convey this message to the people of Dharan,’ said Prime Minister Oli.

The detailed project report for the drinking water project has already been prepared by the federal government. Mayor Rai had informed that he had earlier requested the Ministry of Finance to ensure the source. Prime Minister Oli had emphasized the need to build a ‘landfill site’ using modern technology, rather than traditional methods, for Dharan’s waste management.
