Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula has said that the government will appoint the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank within a few days.
He said this while talking to journalists at the Parliament building premises on Friday. He said that the discussions for the appointment of the Governor took some time. He said that there was no misunderstanding between the parties regarding the appointment of the Governor.
He said that the discussions for the appointment of the Governor were proceeding through the regular process. He claimed that the appointment was delayed because the matter of the appointment of the Governor had reached the court on some legal issues. He said that the government will conclude the discussions and make the appointment soon.
He said, “The government is in the process of discussing this through the regular process. Sometimes, the appointment process for a certain position is completed a few days before the term ends, and the work process begins as soon as the term of some people ends. For some, some discussion processes may take more time. But I want to tell you this much that the government will conclude the process of appointing the governor as soon as possible. There is no conflict or misunderstanding between the parties in the government or between the parties in the appointment of the governor. It has moved forward through the regular process. Within a few days, you will be able to hear the news of the appointment of the governor. Some legal issues have arisen, and it has also been admitted to the court. That is why there may have been some delay. However, in my opinion, the government will decide on the right person, the right position, at the right time. And this decision will come within a few days. Even if it seems a little late, the decision will be made soon.’
Chief Whip Bartaula said that the government will oppose and oppose any activity against the current constitution and system. He accused the royalist movement of being a sponsored conspiracy by reactionaries who do not want to see the country move towards peace and prosperity to lead the country into conflict. He said that no Nepali people are ready to be placed in high positions in the country on the basis of lineage.
Chief Whip Bartaula said that the government cannot say anything about the work being done according to the internal arrangements of the Nepal Rastra Bank.
