Tanahun. The expansion work of the Mugling-Pokhara section under the Prithvi Highway is progressing rapidly. The partial obstruction for a month has been removed during the highway expansion.
The obstruction at Bimalnagar Chunpahara, Bandipur Rural Municipality-4, Tanahun, under the Mugling-Pokhara (Eastern section) of the highway, which is under expansion, has been removed from today.
Passengers had to suffer due to the traffic obstruction caused by rock cutting work at Bimalnagar Chunpahara. The road construction work at Chunpahara for the highway expansion was partially closed for a month to accelerate the work. The 500-meter section from the Transport Management Office Bimalnagar to the new bridge was partially closed, but vehicular traffic will be able to operate smoothly from today.
The said section was closed from time to time for 45 minutes to an hour as needed, and the obstruction has been removed, said Engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey, Information Officer of the Mugling-Pokhara Road Project Eastern Section. He said that since the construction work is ongoing, there may be a partial obstruction for about 15 minutes.
The agreement was signed on Magh 17, 2077 and the work started on Baisakh 2, 2078. The contract for the eastern section has been awarded to China Communication Construction. As the traffic on the road, which was drawn up in 2026 BS, is increasing, the road is being made into a four-lane road with the help of a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The eastern section is being constructed at a cost of Rs 6.21 billion.
