Kathmandu. Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that the greater good of the nation in our diverse society is possible only through respect and protection of cultural diversity.
Expressing best wishes on the occasion of Ubhauli festival today, he mentioned that such festivals have further enlivened the fundamental rights, religious freedom, identity, language and culture guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal as a result of long struggle and sacrifice.
He said, ‘On the occasion of Ubhauli, a festival linked to the original culture of the Kirat community, the agricultural cycle and nature worship, I extend my heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace, good health and prosperity to the Kirat community and all Nepali sisters and brothers. .’
He expressed his belief that this festival is a cultural celebration of coexistence with nature, a hardworking lifestyle and social balance, and that it will inspire us to embrace change and move towards social justice, respect for identity and protection of rights.
He also wished that this festival would preserve the proud cultural heritage of the Kirat community and contribute towards building an inclusive, just and equitable society.
