Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Dr. Shekhar Koirala has accused the country’s leaders of participating in the game of middlemen and the same middlemen are dominating the appointment of governors.

He said this while addressing the launch ceremony of Suman Karmacharya’s ‘Katroma Khalti’ in Kathmandu on Sunday. MP Koirala alleged that the country’s development is facing problems when the leadership level is in cahoots with middlemen. He had earlier said – there are rumors that middlemen are also playing a role in appointing the governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank. If that is the case, then I will warn the government. If that is the case, then it will be unfortunate for Nepal. It will be unfortunate for the government. It will be unfortunate for Nepal itself. This is a very serious matter. None of them have the right to play with the country’s economy like this.’

Says that middlemen are manipulating to appoint the governor of the National Bank, and if that happens, it will be unfortunate for the country. He said that no one should try to play with the country’s economy. He said that even though the government keeps saying that it will provide good governance, it has not been justified. He said that the country can be developed if there is political will in the leadership.

Says that the economic situation of the country is critical and the government has brought an act through an ordinance to improve the economy and there is hope for improvement, but he expressed the suspicion that there may be a middleman’s game there too.

MP Koirala responded by saying that the economic situation of the country is very critical. It will be improved and taken forward. The act was also brought through an ordinance so that the reform processes would move forward. I hope it will happen. Let’s see how much it will happen. Or is there a middleman’s game there again?

He said that in order to make Nepal prosperous and to do it in Nepal, it is necessary to be aware and wary of middlemen. He mentioned the resignation of Kesharjung Baral as Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University a few days ago and said that he had to resign because he could not work due to middlemen.

He said, ‘Look today, a few days ago, the VC of Nepal’s largest and oldest Tribhuvan University resigned. Because I was under a lot of pressure. I said I could not. We can, but I am using the same word again and again. Middlemen. Our leaders are involved in the game of middlemen. That is why this problem is arising. If we want to develop Nepal, if we want to make Nepal prosperous, we should pay attention to three or four things. If we can do that, we can make Nepal prosperous.’

MP Koirala said that it is necessary to reform the constitution. He recalled that the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML had mentioned the need to reform the constitution when they formed the government together, and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had spoken about amending the constitution at the rostrum of the parliament after becoming the Prime Minister, saying that necessary changes were necessary.

He said that it was sad that even after 9 months of the Congress-UML government, there was no focus on amending the constitution.

He also said that the time has come to search for the implementation of the commitments of good governance and ethics. “After that, what they said was that we will provide good governance, we will reduce corruption. I don’t need to say what the state of good governance is. We are not able to prove the justification. There are solutions. For that, the political will should be in the leaders, in the leadership. If there is political will, it can be done, we can. Can’t Nepal be built, can Nepal be built. Now the youth are migrating.’, Dr. Koirala said.

MP Koirala said that Nepal would become prosperous if more emphasis was placed on hydropower, agriculture, green industrialization, and digitalization. He mentioned that all the prime ministers have failed to adopt zero tolerance towards corruption during their tenure.
