Kathmandu. Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist) Center, Barshaman Pun, has accused the government of working only for brokers and middlemen. He accused the government of working only for brokers and middlemen, saying that what he said while leaving power has been proven true.
Speaking at the budget session of the parliament, Deputy General Secretary Pun claimed that the middlemen have already appointed their representatives in the Securities and Exchange Board of Nepal, Insurance Authority, Nepal Stock Exchange and now the Governor of the National Bank will also be the representative of the middlemen. Pun, who is also a former finance minister, said, “Initially, we said that the government was toppled by middlemen when we left the government, but at that time, we understood it as the pain of leaving power. But today, it is known in every household of the Nepali people that this government has only acted as a middleman.”
Says that middlemen have seized all kinds of appointments, Pun said, “The middlemen have already placed their representatives in the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Insurance Authority, Nepal Stock Exchange, and now they are trying to place their character in the post of Governor of the National Bank. The appointment of the governor is being delayed because of the middlemen.”
He thanked the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa, for speaking out on the issue of middlemen, even though it was late. He added, “Gagan Thapa, a member of the political machinery, has seen the arrival of a middleman in the form of the Prime Minister’s bed. I would like to thank him for this, even if it was late.”
He said that the government is only acting as a middleman and has not been able to do anything on issues such as teachers. He alleges that the KP Sharma Oli-led government is being run by middlemen.
