Kathmandu. The Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation has completed a one-day special training program with the aim of expanding the use of digital technology in the truck transportation sector. The program, which was attended by more than 100 people, including officials from various truck business organizations from Sarlahi to the east, provided information about the effective use of digital technology in the transportation sector.
According to the General Secretary of the Federation, Rajendra Bikram Baniya, the participants were trained on truck tracking, GPS, online payment system, document management, truck operation, maintenance, customer service, load-unload management and real-time monitoring through QR codes.
He said that there are currently 21 Dharmakatas operating across the country and that the process of gradually making all Dharmakatas digital is underway. He said that after digitalization, the goal is to control the overload of trucks, keep data secure, and make the transportation process transparent.
In the program, Federation President Hiralal Shrestha mentioned the damage being caused to roads and national infrastructure due to overloading and informed that more programs will be organized in the coming days in coordination with regulatory bodies to solve such problems.
The Federation has stated that the Load Board app has been prepared, putting forward a digital system as an alternative to end the syndicate seen in truck transportation. In addition, it is said that the entire process of truck operation from one place to another will be managed through digital tracking to make the transportation service transparent.
The federation has informed that it is preparing to convert the digital database, smart card system, truck route regulation, vehicle pass and insurance system into an online system to modernize the trucking business.
At the conclusion of the program, the federation has expressed its commitment to institutionalize the digital transformation of truck transport in collaboration with the government and relevant bodies.
