Kathmandu. Janardan Sharma, Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), has said that the economy needs to be restructured for economic production and prosperity. He said this while participating in a meeting of the House of Representatives held on Monday to discuss the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year.
Sharma stressed that the country cannot run in the current way and stressed the need to restructure the economy for economic production and prosperity. He said that the role of the state, community and common citizens should be clear to end the existing discrimination in society for social justice.
He demanded that policies and programs should be clear and concrete to establish social justice by increasing public awareness through campaigns for social and cultural transformation, economic production, employment, prosperity and good governance.
Sharma, who is also a former Finance Minister, said that there should be a clear policy including training for labor-able people, local resource-based production, concessional loans, and plans for the utilization of resources to end poverty and create employment.
He said, ‘To end the existing discrimination (ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic, geographical, gender, etc.) in society for social justice Policies and programs should be clear and concrete to establish social justice by clarifying the role of the state, community and common citizens, increasing public awareness through campaigns for social and cultural transformation and economic production, employment, prosperity and good governance. To end poverty and create employment, there should be a clear policy with training for labor-able people, local resource-based production, seed capital, concessional loans, and plans for the use of resources to create employment. The current way of restructuring the economy for economic production and prosperity does not work.’
He has also emphasized the need to determine the natural resources and means.
