Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi has commented that the current system is not what the people need, but what the big bosses need. Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, he made this comment.
He mentioned that 1.5 trillion rupees are spent every year on maintaining employees, leaders and MPs. He also challenged the creation of a direct executive Prime Minister, stating that the Prime Minister and President are not elected by the people but by a limited number of MPs.
He mentioned that there have been 31 Chief Ministers in the country since the establishment of the Republic, when the government has changed 14 times.
He said, ‘For the past few days, some friends have been jumping around saying that this system should be saved. This system is such a system that the losers who lose the election become ministers and become prime ministers and MPs. That is why the government has changed almost 14 times in this 16-year period. There were 1,000 ministers. There were 31 chief ministers. There were 30 provincial heads. There were three presidents, three vice presidents, and almost 30,000 MPs. It is natural for them to say that this system is the best when everyone can eat together.’
‘They still need this system so that the children of the leaders can study in Europe and America and the children of the poor can be seen in the red box. They need this system for the 2.6 trillion foreign debt. Even now, 1.5 trillion rupees are spent in this country a year on raising employees, leaders, and MPs. They need this system to protect that. Isn’t this system needed by the people? Was the current prime minister elected by the people? “If you have the courage, then make him the Prime Minister directly and we will accept it,” he said.
He also asked, “Who stopped us from finding Madan Bhandari’s killer?”
