‘The current government has done things that benefit the country and the people’, says General Secretary Pokharel

Kathmandu. Nepal Communist Party (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the current government has done work that is in the interest of the country and the people. At the inauguration ceremony of the second meeting of the Central Committee of Press Chautari Nepal, General Secretary Pokharel said that the current government is working for development and prosperity of the country.

‘Revenue growth and foreign exchange reserves will increase, road construction work is going on in full swing,’ he said. ‘After this government came to power, an agreement was reached on the BRI, this is an important work.’

Although the use of information and technology has made it easier to do many things, its misuse has caused a lot of discomfort and instability in Nepali society, General Secretary Pokharel said. He stated that Nepal has made good progress in poverty alleviation and that Nepali society is now moving towards equality, clarifying that the country has made a leap in development after the establishment of the democratic republic.

‘Journalists should be creative and play a role for the society and the nation. The power of journalists increases through information,’ said General Secretary Pokharel. Stating that UML is the party that is leading the country on the right path and is the most popular party, he said that the party is taking the initiative to fulfill the resolution of ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepalis’.

UML Organizational Mechanism Chief Bhanubhakta Dhakal recalled the important contribution of working journalists of Press Chautari Nepal and the country’s democratic movement. Vice President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Nitu Pandit, expressed her commitment to work for the professional and professional rights and interests of working journalists.

Sancharika Group Nepal President Kamala Panthi said that Sancharika will work for the professional and professional security of women journalists. Nepal Federation of Indigenous Journalists (FONIJ) President Lucky Chaudhary said that the objective of FONIJ and Chautari is to move forward in collaboration as the interests of working journalists are the same.

On the occasion, Chautari honored the newly elected President Panthi and office bearers of the Sancharika Group and the newly elected President Lucky Chaudhary of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Journalists (FONIJ) with congratulations and best wishes.
