Kathmandu. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has expressed his commitment not to let the country’s economy and banks sink. Speaking at a press conference organized at the Ministry of Finance on Sunday, Finance Minister Poudel made this commitment.
He said that recently some people have been spreading rumors that both banks and the economy are sinking. He said that those who are in the habit of making negative comments about the economy have spread such a negative message and pledged that the current government will not let the economy and banks sink.
He said that any negative comments would be meaningless, saying that the statistics have confirmed that the economy has been continuously improving in recent times. He informed that no one should follow those who spread negative rumors that the economy has collapsed.
He also urged the media not to promote negative things. He said that despite the liquidity glut in banks, investment has been improving recently. He informed that the government is also trying to invest the deposits collected in banks in areas that generate production, productivity and create employment.
He said that the government needs to make qualitative improvements in capital expenditure. He said that special attention needs to be paid to ensuring time, cost and quality in infrastructure construction. He said that the government has made all the payments it has to make. He informed that no construction businessperson has been denied payment for claims made by following the procedure.
He said that the Ministry of Finance will not cheat on facts. He claimed that the indicator was negative when the current government took over the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance, but in the last 6 months, the government has turned the economy in a positive direction. He said that the Ministry of Finance has been spending money by allocating money to 175 types of funds annually. Finance Minister Poudel mentioned that the ordinances brought by the government are for the prosperity of the country and building a business environment.
