Kathmandu. Nepali Congress lawmaker Arjun Narsingh KC has demanded an investigation through parliament into the arbitrariness in the budget allocation for the upcoming fiscal year.
Taking part in the discussion on the Appropriation Bill in the Meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, lawmaker KC demanded the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate whether the appropriation process was correct or not. He demanded that a parliamentary committee should be formed to study whether the budget allocation is correct or not or not, it should be sent to the Good Governance Committee or the Public Accounts Committee. He also regretted that the budget was allocated arbitrarily.
“I humbly request the two deputy prime ministers to form a parliamentary committee to see if the allocation is correct as presented in the budget,” he said. Let him investigate. If there is no parliamentary committee, then it should be sent to good governance committee or accounts committee. The manner in which this arbitrary allocation has been done is not only sad but regrettable, Mr. Honorable Speaker. My complaint is whether they were treated equally or not. Did the budget work to balance all the honorable from the new to the old? What is the situation when we compare the budget kept in the district of ministers and senior leaders and the budget of the whole country together? It should be investigated. ’
Stating that there was no equal treatment in the distribution of the budget, lawmaker KC said that a comparison should be made between the budget of the ministers and the top leaders in the districts and the budget in other districts.
