Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that the bill on promoting good governance and public service delivery has been brought because the existing laws have created obstacles to maintaining good governance in the country.
Responding to questions raised during the theoretical discussion on the bill in the National Assembly meeting on Sunday, Minister Gurung said this. Stating that it is the religion of the opposition to oppose even the good work done by the government, he argued that there is no excuse for this.
He said that it is important to understand how many problems there are in the law, regardless of how many acts the government has amended. He mentioned that the ruling party considers the issue of changing the name of Yogmaya University like a flower and a fragrance on gold.
He said, ‘The ruling party considers the issue of changing the name of Yogmaya University like a flower and a fragrance on gold. My answer is this. It is the religion of the opposition to keep showing that something is wrong. I think there is no cure for this either. We have amended 12 acts. The enemy of all of us is misgovernance. The situation that has arisen in which effective services cannot be provided to the people and the existing laws that have created obstacles in the way of good governance in the country have created obstacles.’
‘It has created obstacles. Therefore, regardless of how many acts have been amended and brought, we should understand how many problems there are. “We have brought this bill because so many laws are hindering good governance,” he said.
The bill proposes to change the name of Yogmaya Ayurvedic University to Vidushi Yogmaya Himalayan Ayurvedic University.
