Kathmandu. Banks have made public the raw financial statements for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. Out of the 20 commercial banks in operation, the bad loans of most of the banks have increased. According to the data, the banks are still facing problems in loan recovery.

According to the second quarter statements made public by the banks, the average bad loans of 20 commercial banks have increased by 1.09 percent. The average bad loans of banks are 4.48 percent. In the same period of the last fiscal year, such an average was 3.39 percent.

According to the financial statements made public by the banks, the bad loans of all banks except one have increased. Out of the 20 commercial banks, only Everest Bank has decreased its bad loans, while 19 banks have increased their bad loans. Everest Bank’s bad loan ratio is 0.66 percent. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the bank’s bad loan was 0.77 percent.

Kumari Bank has the highest bad loan till this period. The bank’s bad loan ratio is 6.96 percent. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the bank’s bad loan ratio was 4.97 percent.

Similarly, Nepal Investment Mega Bank’s bad loan is 5.86 percent. In the previous fiscal year, the bank’s such loan was 4.75 percent. Similarly, the bad loans of Lakshmi Sunrise Bank are 5.67 percent, and Prabhu Bank is 5.06 percent.

Similarly, the bad loans of Nepal Bank are 4.99 percent, Himalayan Bank is 4.98 percent, Prime Commercial Bank is 4.96 percent, Rastriya Banijya Bank is 4.96 percent, Nabil Bank is 4.93 percent, and Krishi Bikas Bank is 4.90 percent.

Similarly, as of the second quarter of the current fiscal year, the bad loans of NIC Asia Bank are 4.61 percent, Citizens Bank is 4.85 percent, Global IME Bank is 4.86 percent, Machhapuchhre Bank is 4.54 percent, Nepal SBI Bank is 3.55 percent, NMB is 4.55 percent, The data shows that the bank’s bad loans are 3.96 percent, Sanima Bank’s 3.22 percent, Siddhartha Bank’s 4.50 percent, and Standard Chartered Bank’s 1.71 percent.
