Kathmandu. The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Nepal is organizing the 8th International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair 2081 from Chaitra 14.
The Federation is organizing the Entrepreneurs Trade Fair from Chaitra 14 to 18 at the Heritage Garden in Lalitpur, said Federation President Shobha Gyawali.
The Federation expects that more than 55,000 women entrepreneurs affiliated with the Women Entrepreneurs District Associations established in the 72 districts of Nepal affiliated to the Federation will directly or indirectly benefit through the trade fair.
It is reported that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the fair. During the five-day fair, women entrepreneurs from 72 associations of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs of Nepal will participate.
Chairperson Shobha Gyawali said that a total of 144 sales stalls will be set up at the fair venue. In which, 2 pavilions, 58 women entrepreneurs from the district associations of women entrepreneurs will participate and the remaining 82 stalls will be provided to domestic and foreign women entrepreneurs.
This year’s Eighth International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair-2081 will have a total of 144 sales stalls, including 2 pavilions. The federation has stated that about 60,000 consumers and observers will visit the fair and participate in economic transactions, and that there will be an economic transaction worth about 22.5 million rupees.
The fair venue will have six types of stalls: environmentally friendly, handicrafts, agriculture, trade and services, food, and international. To facilitate the fair in an orderly and dignified manner, 16 students from Iowa State University in the US will facilitate as volunteers, while 2 professors will observe the fair.
An additional 10 Nepali students studying on campuses will also facilitate as volunteers to organize the fair.
During the fair, agricultural products, handicrafts, food products, international goods, service-oriented goods and services produced by women entrepreneurs scattered across Nepal will be promoted and sold.
During the fair, international women entrepreneurs and their products will be showcased Since there will be participation, women entrepreneurs of Nepal will be able to get information about the technologies used, the measures adopted for marketing such as product leveling, packaging, branding, etc. In addition, the federation expects that this fair will also be helpful in expanding the market for Nepali products produced in Nepal in the international arena.
With the aim of enhancing the knowledge and capacity of women entrepreneurs participating in the fair, interactions, discussions, and webinars on various topics will be conducted at the fair venue during the fair. This will include programs such as gender equality and social inclusion, Nepal’s upgrade from a least developed country to a developing country, and the opportunities and challenges that can be obtained from this, and a financial literacy program.
The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Nepal, which acts as a representative organization of women entrepreneurs across the country, has been organizing the International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair for the past decade to support the promotion and marketing of goods and services produced by women entrepreneurs.
The Federation has been organizing the International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair regularly with the aim of supporting Nepal’s economic reform by supporting the promotion and marketing of the products of Nepali women entrepreneurs in the national and international markets, increasing domestic production through the development of women entrepreneurship, and promoting exports. .
The federation has stated that the slogan “Eat indigenous, wear indigenous and promote entrepreneurship” has been taken as an integral part of the entire effort. To promote and market the goods and services produced by women entrepreneurs, the Federation organized the ‘Made in Nepal Expo 2024’ in Melbourne, Australia in December 2024.
Through which, an opportunity has been created to present Nepali products to Australian consumers and to export Nepali products to other markets in Australia.
Cooperation and financial support have been received from various bodies of the Government of Nepal, international non-governmental organizations, banks and financial institutions, private companies, as well as foreign embassies in Nepal for the operation of the 8th International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair. .
